MTV is Ruining Our Youth

The content of MTV television shows is sickening, considering the audience that these shows are directed toward.  A majority of MTV's audience is teenagers, even young teens in middle school are tuning in now.  Honestly, the content of the shows is only appropriate for older high schoolers and above.  They all contain mature subject matter, such as pregnancy, underage drinking, drugs, cheating, fighting, etc.  These are things that teenagers should not be exposed to until they are old enough to understand and handle it.  MTV is teaching kids that the actions performed in these shows are appropriate in the real world.  They are growing up thinking that binge drinking and making stupid mistakes is funny and acceptable.  They won't look down on this when they grow up and are faced with these choices.  This is ruining the innocence of teens; they should be learning that these things are terrible, not entertaining.  The kids watching MTV are the future of our society, and if they are learning through innappropriate reality television, what is going to happen to America?  I would never give my children consent to watch MTV.  However, if it was how it used to be, actually music television, I'd let them watch it as much as they desired.
